Outside the Box: Carfellas Episode 2

Wow it looks like my initial posting for "Carfellas" was a hit, so it's great to see others enjoying the show as much as I am!

As such I've included the second Episode from this canceled-too-soon series, so enjoy!

Godzilla # 1 Rankings

Fresh from posting are the latest comic book rankings for May, and included is how well "Godzilla #1" performed.

This is of course the all new series that seems to"reintroduce" Godzilla within the IDW world.

So how did it do?

Not too bad really...coming in at 175th place with 11,994 issues sold.

Again not really spectacular...but not too bad either when compared to past series'.

A solid amount of issues sold for what is now the fourth Godzilla series within IDW.

I'm interested in seeing how the rest of the issues perform, as the buzz on this first issue has been pretty spectacular...so things might just pick up!

Guillermo del Toro Calls PACIFIC RIM the “Best Creative Experience [He's] Ever Had in Hollywood”

More good news on "Pacific Rim"...a film so secretive there's pretty much only been one official pic released thus far.

Director Guillermo Del Toro calls it the "best creative experience [he's] ever had in Hollywood".

When a director is that happy about their work thus far...you know that things are going to pay off beautifully!

He also had more to say at collider.com:

"When we’re talking about the physicality of the fight, we ended up building several blocks of Hong Kong. And literally demolished them.

We built a building and then we took down the buildings. We built command centres of the robots that were the size of the house. We started them on hydraulic rigs that shoot and elevated them and moved them round so you could really get a sense of the physical nature driving a robot like this."

I bet Legendary Pictures releases a trailer to this long-awaited "Godzilla" clone with "The Dark Knight Rises", as both are made from the same studio.

As people got excited over a Godzilla-themed movie like "Cloverfield"...just wait until they get a load of this!

Outside the Box: Carfellas Episode 1

For this edition of "Outside the Box" I thought I would share something very cool that I found on Youtube.

It's episodes of a canceled...well not really canceled but the show certainly hasn't had a second season yet...series called "Carfellas".

Apparently it ran on the Discovery channel late last year...and much to my surprise it never crossed my path considering how much I love "reality" shows like these.

I'm a huge fan of shows like "Dog the Bounty Hunter", "King of Cars", "Cops", etc., i.e. shows that follow the lives/careers of other people.

This show perfectly fit as it follows the day-in-day-out activities of a small-time used car lot just looking to expand and stay afloat.

The characters definitely make the show...it's like they're straight out of "GoodFellas" or something!

Check out the show, I highly recommend it! I'll be posting more episodes as the weeks go by.
