Godzilla Video of the Day

Here's something you'd never thought you'd see...Godzilla mentioned in the "To Catch a Predator" show.

It was actually an actor (really a "stand-in") who had appeared in the 1998 movie that got caught, but the concept is still there.

(I believe stand-ins are those people who substitute for actors during non-pivotal scenes...such as behind-the-back and far-away shots).

If you've never seen the now defunct show here's a good chance to see Chris Hansen do what he does best.

Ironically Chris himself would be caught in real life (by a surveillance team and cameras no less) having an affair on his wife...and it was also broadcast on TV shows...irony at its best!

Weird Godzilla Toy...part 21

Well...not exactly a toy, but certainly a "wtf" type concept when it comes to the world of Godzilla.

Who in their right mind decided to combine Godzilla with men's cufflinks?

It's like combining him with a VHS rewinder, or an LP needle cover, or a scotch tape dispenser...or anything else that just doesn't make sense.

Here's the description straight from the company's website:

"Be The Creme De La Creme Of All Gentlemen With These Chunky Domed Cufflinks to Complement Every Occasion This Highly Acclaimed Collection Of Amusing, Cheeky, Lewd, Rude And Unexpected Designs Are Brought To You Beautifully Packaged In Metallic Lozenge Boxe".

Weird.

Outside the Box: New "Man of Steel" trailer

Just released within The Dark Knight Rises movie is the newest trailer for "Man of Steel", the epic Superman movie that will await us next year.

Check it out before coming back here...

...ok now that you have how do you feel about it?

At first I was utterly surprised!

I know of Zack Snyder, I know of his filmmaking ways...but this looks nothing like his previous work.

Where I would've expected slow motion track shots set to hard rock music...now we have an American epic on our hands?

Beautifully shot scenes...pure charisma and drama oozing from each shot...if these simple shots are that powerful I can't wait to see how the eventual action looks like!

Love the feel of this movie thus far!

Godzilla Image of the Day

For this "Image of the Day" is this beautiful painting done by renowned artist Bob Eggleton.

Eggleton of course is no stranger to the Godzilla world, having painted multiple covers for both the novels, trading cards and comic book covers.

Just look at how that powerful moment from the original Godzilla film is captured here!

Godzilla sees the Oxygen Destroyer but has no idea as to its impact...while the valiant hero eventually sacrifices himself for a better cause.

Great stuff!
