Drew Goddard Wants More Cloverfield

Sure he does.

I'm only posting this to illustrate how many times we've heard the same thing from the Cloverfield team.

Each time any one of the trio of J.J. Abrams, Drew Goddard or Matt Reeves are interviewed about the sequel's whereabouts, they always state the same thing.

It's being worked on...we have several ideas...we're all pretty busy right now...it's definitely on the back of our minds...I think J.J. has something going on...etc.

Case in point is Drew's quote from shocktillyoudrop.com:

"If you asked each of us what we wanted to do, you'll get three different answers, which is how the first film was. The aesthetic of Cloverfield benefits from that. Three voices pulling it. Look, nothing would make me happier than to get the three of us in the room to get started".

In other words more of nothing.

If they were really that passionate it would have been done by now.

Now I don't mind a project taking it's time to ensure that they have some quality stuff (***cough cough Legendary Pictures and Godzilla***) but sometimes too much time gone is as dangerous as releasing a rushed film.

The original audience will have forgotten what the fuss is all about...and a whole new generation could care less.

It's now over 4 years (wow, has it really been that long) since the original film was released. By this point I think it's safe to say that the sequel is never going to be made.

Here's the original article for further info:

Godzilla Video of the Day

Epic video!

I don't know who made that Godzilla Costume but whoever is inside that costume...HUGE kudos to them.

No doubt they went through a lot of work getting that thing done, and the results paid spectacularly!

Although I don't know who he's "fighting" in this clip? I don't recognize the purple-costume that guy has.

And of course who can ignore the sexy cosplay girl in there. Is there anything better at Comic Cons?

More cosplay girl pictures you say? No problem:

Detroit-area woman terrorized by a Turkey called "Godzilla"

Who knew that Turkeys could take on Godzilla-like traits!

Apparently in Detroit a woman is experiencing one angry Turkey.

Known for harshly defending their territories, this Turkey has taken it upon himself to attack this woman as a perceived threat.

Day in day out, it's all the same as it lives in the woods nearby her home.

These attacks have been so fearsome she's dubbed the Turkey "Godzilla"!

Good for the Turkey! No doubt it's fighting back against the annual ritual known as Thanksgiving.

I've seen the video and that is one mean Turkey. It would not let up despite someone forcing it back a broom!

For the full story, including said video of the Turkey itself, go here:

Godzilla Image of the Day

****Credit goes to thelovecraftsman.com for this image****

Interesting fight.

I would have included this within one of my "Godzilla Fight of the Day" columns (you can see all of them here) but I just don't know enough about Cthulhu to help formulate something.

According to the Cthulhu books he is as big as a mountain, has telekinesis, has a cult of followers ready to do battle, is nearly immortal and is the embodiment of all evil...but really that's just all broad stroke stuff.

Short of Cadmium missiles Godzilla is nearly invincible himself, and he seems to operate like the Hulk where the longer the fight happens, the stronger and meaner he gets.

In any case it makes for a kickass poster here!

Godzilla Movie News update! (Donations)

Hello everyone it's Fernando for Godzilla Movie News.

I wanted to take this time to profusely thank everyone who's been following this website for months now.

I really do appreciate everyone choosing to make this website their goto place for everything Godzilla related! Your views and your input is what drives me to do this, as without viewers none of this would happen.

I do this because just like yourselves I'm a huge Godzilla fan. I wanted a website that would provide the best Godzilla info possible, and as such this website remains dedicated to you all!

It's amazing how in a short period this website has grown exponentially. From a just a few views a day to now tens of thousands per month, everything is developing so quickly!

(Fyi I've also been working on creating a forum where we can all talk about Godzilla and other items on a daily basis! More info as it develops).

I promise everybody that I will continue to provide you all the best Godzilla info possible daily. Whether it's through the upcoming movie, comic books, video games, books, general news, etc., no info is too small to cover when it comes to the King of Monsters!

As such I wanted to ask everyone that if you enjoy what I'm doing with this site and you're so inclined, please feel free to donate anything ($0.50, $1.00, etc.) towards the upper right hand corner of this homepage.  As always one doesn't have to...but any such appreciation would be greatly enjoyed on my end!

Thanks again everybody, and here's to making 2012 the most successful year yet!

Godzilla Video of the Day

Funny stuff!

Apparently at the recent Oscars (which I didn't watch as that's not really my sort of thing) Angelina Jolie caused quite a stir by posing in a dress that revealed a whole lot of leg.

Here's a picture of it by the way:

(Personally I've got no problem with ladies dressing up in such revealing fashions. I love it when women dress sexy. The less the merrier as long as it remains classy!)

But a lot of other people did have a problem, and now the Taiwanese news have run their own story on it.

The Taiwan news network is apparently very famous for their news videos.  They make these videos very sensational, with graphics and images that don't have anything to do with the topic...but they still work them in somehow.

In this case they've turned Angelina Jolie's revealing leg into a Godzilla-like monster destroying cities!

Why? I don't know...but they did it!

Why can't we have news networks like that here in America?

In any case check out the video above. Luckily whoever made it was able to translate what's being said so it comes out even funnier.

Enjoy!

By the way, anybody ask for sexy Angelina Jolie pics? She is an incredibly beautiful woman!

Godzilla Kingdom of Monsters #11 Rankings

And the downhill slide continues for the penultimate issue within the Godzilla Kingdom of Monsters series.

Last time out issue #10 came in at 183rd place with 9,294 issues sold.

Godzilla Kingdom of Monsters #11 actually jumped up higher in rankings, coming in at 177th place...but that's only because the multitude of comics ahead of it also sold less.

All in all this issue only sold 8,676 copies, another 500+ drop of issues sold!

For those wondering how unsold issues can affect comic book publishers like IDW, my understanding is that it comes through two ways:

1) the comic book stores order less copies of something that sells low. Such a cycle is only natural, which obviously affects future sales within the series

2) unsold copies at a comic book store can be returned back to the publishers for a discount/refund, which can also threaten future publications from said publishers

(On a side note one can see why digital comics are being pushed so heavily by all comic book publishers. Virtual issues do not come with overprinting risks).

We'll finally be able to see next month how the final issue in this series plays out when it comes to sales.
