Drew Goddard Wants More Cloverfield

Sure he does.

I'm only posting this to illustrate how many times we've heard the same thing from the Cloverfield team.

Each time any one of the trio of J.J. Abrams, Drew Goddard or Matt Reeves are interviewed about the sequel's whereabouts, they always state the same thing.

It's being worked on...we have several ideas...we're all pretty busy right now...it's definitely on the back of our minds...I think J.J. has something going on...etc.

Case in point is Drew's quote from shocktillyoudrop.com:

"If you asked each of us what we wanted to do, you'll get three different answers, which is how the first film was. The aesthetic of Cloverfield benefits from that. Three voices pulling it. Look, nothing would make me happier than to get the three of us in the room to get started".

In other words more of nothing.

If they were really that passionate it would have been done by now.

Now I don't mind a project taking it's time to ensure that they have some quality stuff (***cough cough Legendary Pictures and Godzilla***) but sometimes too much time gone is as dangerous as releasing a rushed film.

The original audience will have forgotten what the fuss is all about...and a whole new generation could care less.

It's now over 4 years (wow, has it really been that long) since the original film was released. By this point I think it's safe to say that the sequel is never going to be made.

Here's the original article for further info:
