Just released in lieu of the big SDCC announcement, Destroyer14 provides some very valid points as to why a new Godzilla
film is necessary.One of my favorite points remains this:
"When people think of Godzilla, they think of "The guy who directed Independence Day directed it, right?" "That giant iguana with the Jurassic Park raptor spawn." That's how they know him, from a lackluster film with a monster that could be defeated by conventional means."
Amen Destroyer14, I strongly believe this is why a new Godzilla film was warranted.
Toho didn't want that film to forever stain their history, so they probably agreed to a second chance only after enough time has passed.
And considering the response that audiences gave at SDCC...it looks like the time is just right!
