A while back I had posted an article highlighting a virtual tour through the filmed locations of "Godzilla
".Basically someone visited many of the New York locations utilized the film and took picture comparisons against those scenes.

I found another website that has done the same cool thing.
As you can see from the pics above, somebody visited some of the same locations and took their own pictures, with some added film shots to see how they compare.
One BIG credit that has to go with the 1998 film, they certainly filmed things right then and there in New York.
Many films nowadays utilize locations in Canada/Australia and try pass them off as New York in order to save on costs...Emmerich and Devlin shot the real thing!
It truly made a world of difference seeing real New York landscapes/buildings in the background.
